Junior lifeguard training offered The Conejo Valley YMCA will offer junior lifeguard training classes for youth ages 7 through 15 at the Conejo Valley YMCA, 4031 N. Moorpark Road, Thousand Oaks. The four-day programs are scheduled from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. June 20 through June 23, July 11 through July 14 and August 1 through August 4. The cost is $60. Participants will learn water and deck rescues, safety and emergency procedures and how to enter the water. They will train with YMCA lifeguards. Participants must be able to swim 50 yards freestyle and tread water for one minute. For more information call (805) 523-7613.
