Missing persons website offered

The Malibu/Lost Hills Sheriff’s Station is advising the public that a website exists that is designed to provide an overview of DNA analysis for friends and family of missing persons.

Those interested in the process that forensic scientists go through to identify human remains or to learn what DNA can and cannot do should visit www.ncirs.org/ pdlffiles1/nij/209493.pdf.

The website also describes the source of DNA that forensic scientists might use, and explains the difference between nuclear and mitochondrial DNA.
