Calabasas goes green

The United States Green Building Council, Los Angeles Chapter, has awarded the city of Calabasas a 2005 Municipal Green Building Conference and Expo Building Award for development projects that are deemed good for the environment.

Former Mayor Michael Harrison joined the Calabasas City Council in accepting the award. Harrison was instrumental in the creation of the city’s “green building” program.

“Anybody who’s watched this for the last three years knows that Michael Harrison has earned this,” said Calabasas Mayor Barry Groveman.

Harrison helped write the city’s green building ordinance.
