Myths, folklore, fairy tales focus of meeting

Jeanne Martin, PhD will be the first guest speaker of the Ventura County Writers Club meeting at 7 p.m. Tues., May 10 at Borders Books, 125 Thousand Oaks Blvd., Thousand Oaks. Martin is an authority on Egyptian and Greco-Roman myths, folklore and fairy tales, epics, spirituality, Grail legends, the Renaissance, music and mythology, ancient cities and lost civilizations.

The second guest speaker, James Bonnet, actor and author of "Stealing Fire from Gods," will present his "unified" theory of the origin and nature of story, a revolutionary new model that teaches writers and filmmakers how to create more powerful and successful novels and films.
