Bible celebrated in song
BIBLE UNDERSTUDY- From left, Westminster Presbyterian Church high school students Sam France, James Cassell, Maddy Riehs and Ashley Strumwasser are part of the ensemble cast in the upcoming church play, "And On the Sixth Day."
The high school students from Westminster Presbyterian Church will present "And On The Sixth Day," a reverent and light-hearted musical romp from creation to the nativity.
The musical features such familiar characters as Adam and Eve, Noah, Abraham, David and Bathsheba in a theologically sound, yet altogether new light.
The barbershop quartet that accompanies Samson’s shearing and Satan’s song urging the lions to devour Daniel are just two examples of how this delightful production approaches familiar Biblical tales.
Isaac’s childlike enthusiasm as he accompanies his father Abraham up to the mountaintop to offer the ultimate sacrifice is poignant. And Satan is deliciously evil as he concocts ludicrous ways to upset God’s plan for mankind.
This free production will be at 7:30 p.m. Fri. and Sat., May 6 and 7 at Westminster Presbyterian Church, 32111 Watergate Road, Westlake Village.
No reservations are required. For information call (818) 496-2394.
