A thief took a Chihuahua puppy on display at Loves Pets in the 5600 block of Kanan Road at about 5 p.m. on March 4. The 2-pound male dog is tan with no markings and is worth about $1,000. A man reportedly came into the store, went to the display area, picked up a dog and walked out. The thief got into the passenger seat of a black Ford Escape and drove away, according to a witness.

Someone stole a $10,000 wedding ring from a jewelry box in the bedroom of a home on Walnut Ridge Drive between Dec. 18, 04 and Feb. 22. Construction work was underway at the house at the time.

Vandals shattered a rear patio sliding glass door at a residence on Freshwater Drive between 2 and 6 p.m. on March 3.

Calabasas

A Lupine Lane resident reported that his Fender Telecaster Guitar, valued at $2,500, was stolen from his home while he was at work. The victim also told authorities he had called the apartment manager’s office to advise them about a leak and gave his permission for workers to come into his home to repair it. When he returned from work, he said his front door was closed but not locked.

A thief stole two IBM laptop computers and a digital camera with a combined value of $2,900 from a business in the 5000 block of Parkway Calabasas March 4. The burglar damaged a door to get into the office

A Calabasas city council incumbent reported an election banner, valued at $500, was stolen from the 24000 block of Ventura Boulevard between March 4 and 5.

A backpack containing checkbooks was stolen from a car parked in the 26000 block of Philrich Court between March 5 and 6. The culprit shattered the front passenger window to get to the goods.

Someone entered a business in the 23500 block of Calabasas Road overnight on Feb. 24 and stole $300 from the cash register.

Westlake Village

Someone damaged a fence at the new Dole Hotel construction site off Lindero Canyon Boulevard on Dole Drive and stole construction equipment valued at $4,000. The incident occurred between Feb. 26 and 28. The damage to the fence was $2,300.
