Support one of city’s founders

When considering the candidates for Calabasas City Council, keep in mind Lesley Devine, one of our city’s founders. She has been dedicated to Calabasas from the beginning and has earned her toughness through years of wrangling with developers and business owners to keep the "small town" feel of Calabasas. She has been successful in many of her attempts to preserve scenic corridors as the chair of the "Open Space Task Force" and is a steadfast voice against urbanization.

There is a fine line to walk between business interests and the environment. Lesley understands the Calabasas General Plan better than most of us because she helped write it. She has consistently been on the side of the environment as well as the arts.

Lesley Devine asks questions others don’t ask and takes positions that are often diverse from common perceptions. However, our city has flourished over the years despite differing priorities among the council members. We have three city council seats to fill on March 8. We should maintain the variety of opinions and trust the council can find the right common ground.
