Water photos at Calabasas library

Calabasas resident Matt Segal will display a collection of underwater photography at the city of Calabasas Public Library beginning Sun., March 6.

Segal, a freshman at USC majoring in aerospace engineering, began taking photos underwater in the fall of 2004.

He has photographed various locations including Papua New Guinea and Turks and Caicos, as well as the Channel Islands.

Within a year of pursuing this interest, Segal was named Photographer of the Week by ScubaDiving.com.

He has also received recognition from Wetpixel.com and the Los Angeles Underwater Photographic Society for his pictures.

The prints displayed at the Calabasas Library will feature a number of ocean scenes and marine life including jellyfish, manta rays, and clownfish.
