Volcanic geology to be discussed

Eugene Fritsche, a retired professor emeritus from Cal State University Northridge, will discuss "Volcanic Geology of the Santa Monica Mountains" at the Conejo Gem & Mineral Club’s meeting at 7:30 p.m. Thurs., March 10 at Hillcrest Arts Center, 403 W. Hillcrest Drive, Thousand Oaks.

He will provide an interpretation of how the Conejo Valley’s landforms developed. Slides and maps will show how artichokes, volcanoes and lava are all related in some way, according to club member Mitty Scarpato.
