Agoura Hills

Burglar(s) smashed the window of a car at an undisclosed location and stole a CD player, a television monitor, a checkbook, and a wallet containing drivers’ license, credit cards, social security card and more than $700 in cash. Some of the items were later recovered by a bike rider on Mullholland Highway and returned to authorities.

Someone broke into a vehicle parked on Country Glen Feb. 12 and took a cell phone, a purse containing credit cards, $100 in cash and checks. The victim reported that she found her car with the doors, glove box and trunk open.

A car parked on Yankee Drive between Feb 12 and Feb. 13 was burglarized. The culprit(s) stole eyeglasses valued at $375 and a CD player valued at $200.

Calabasas

A woman reported her purse was stolen while she was picking up children Feb. 11 at A.E. Wright Middle School on Las Virgenes Road. The purse contained a checkbook, a wallet with driver’s license, $40 in cash and credit cards. Later, the woman got a call from an Agoura/Calabasas Community Center employee who told her the purse and wallet were found in a gutter. The cash was gone but the other articles were recovered.

Someone burglarized a Mazda Miata parked in an undisclosed carport location between Feb. 11 and Feb. 12. Cash, sunglasses and an AM/FM compact disc player, valued at $550, were stolen.

A resident reported a person attempted to burglarize her home while she was gone between Feb. 8 and Feb. 12. A witness reported he saw a person climbing over the woman’s rear yard gate. The location of the incident was not disclosed.

Westlake Village

Someone shattered the rear window of a vehicle parked at an undisclosed location on Feb. 13 between 11:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. The burglar took a new Sony computer that was on the back seat of the car. The item was valued at $1,750.

A three-month old Shih Tzu puppy was taken from a display case at the Pet Stop pet shop on Thousand Oaks Blvd. The puppy, valued at $1,000, is reddish with tan markings. An employee told deputies she was working alone in the store and believes she was distracted by one customer while another customer stole the puppy.

Police arrested a petty thief between 1:45 and 6:30 p.m. Feb. 9 in the 1200 block of La Venta.
