Lupus support group aims to help telephone users

The Conejo Valley Lupus Support Group will host guest speaker Andie Squires, an outreach specialist for the California Telephone Access Program, at its 6 p.m. meeting Tues., March 1 at the Westlake Village Urgent Care and Occupational Health Center, 4415 S. Lakeview Canyon Road, Westlake Village.

Squires will present key information for those who have difficulty using the telephone. The program is designed for those who have either a temporary or permanent problem hearing, speaking, seeing, moving or remembering.

"Free telephone equipment is available for those who have a signed form from their doctors," according to Squires.

Lupus is a term for a chronic autoimmune disease called systemic lupus erythematosus that affects the entire body called systemic. The focus of the support group meetings is how to effectively live with lupus.
