Financial workshop for parents of special needs kids

Special-needs trust practitioner Diedre Dennis Wachbrit will address the long-range financial planning issues that parents of special-needs children face. The event is at 6 p.m. Thurs., Feb. 24 and at 6 p.m. Mon., Feb. 28 at Westlake Village City Hall’s community room, 31200 Oak Crest Drive.

The sessions are hosted by Pause4kids, a nonprofit based in Thousand Oaks.

Topics include: understanding financial resources for the person with special needs; creating a special needs trust and establishing a trustee; and calculating the amount of money a special needs child will need to maintain his or her quality of life.

Donations will be gratefully accepted for photocopy expenses.
