Bird author speaks Author and hummingbird expert Sheri Williamson will sign copies of her books and present an informal program on hummingbirds at 1 p.m. Sat., March 5 at Wild Birds Unlimited, 22110 Ventura Blvd., Woodland Hills. The event is free but reservations are required; call (818) 704-7333. A naturalist and co-founder of the Southeastern Arizona Bird Observatory, Williamson is the author of "A Field Guide to Hummingbirds of North America." She is also the author of "Attracting and Feeding Hummingbirds." Both books will be available at the store. Inspired by the work of the Cape May Bird Observatory, Williamson and her husband, Tom Woods, left the Nature Conservancy’s Ramsey Canyon Preserve in Arizona, which they had managed for more than seven years, to found the Southeastern Arizona Bird Observatory to concentrate on education and conservation efforts. |
