Take Your Acorn On Vacation
REGAL READING-Max and Sam Hirsch of Oak Park take time out from their visit to Warwick Castle in England to catch up on news from home. The boys and their parents, David and Anne Hirsch, went on a whirlwind tour of England, the Netherlands and France. GOING WITH THE FLOE-It was a balmy 25 degrees on top of the Mendel Hall Glacier in Alaska. That's perfect weather to snap a picture of, from left: Lori, Adam, Jeff, Cary and Brian Blaser and Sharleen Bergman (holding The Acorn). | KOWTOWING-The cows had to make way for Larry Simons of Oak Park, center, and his brothers-in-law Peter Feinberg and Steve Kany. The trio was in Patagonia, Chile, taking a rafting trip. |
INTO THIN AIR-Agoura Hills resident Leah Gasendo Nishida, left, and her son, Kevin, are fit for yodeling near the top of the Bavarian Alps. Kevin Nishida is a junior at Oaks Christian High School in Westlake Village. | TRIUMPHANT TRIP-Sandra, Joel, Shayna and Daniel Sigman of Calabasas take in the sites of Paris while visiting Joel's brother and his family. The foursome took time to see the Arc de Triomphe. The arch was commissioned by Napoleon and completed in 1836. |
REDWOOD RETREAT-Max Ehrlich of Agoura Hills tries to unravel the mysteries of "The Mystery Spot" in Santa Cruz. The tourist locale has been open since 1940 and features a 150-foot area where the everyday laws of physics seem not to apply. |
