Hospital foundation offers nursing scholarships

The Encino-Tarzana Charitable Hospital Foundation is distributing nursing scholarships this year. Each year, the foundation makes numerous educational awards.

Awards are in the form of cash, made to select nursing students to further their careers. In 2004, the Encino-Tarzana Charitable Hospital Foundation distributed more than $35,000 in scholarships.

To be eligible, the recipients must meet very specific criteria. They are required to be currently enrolled in school; demonstrate good school attendance, honesty and integrity; show initiative and dedication to exploring career opportunities in the medical field; receive at least one recommendation submitted by a teacher, department chair, supervisor of study, or school counselor; and fully complete the foundation’s application form.
