St. Patrick’s School taking applications

St. Patrick’s Episcopal Day School is currently accepting student admissions applications for the 2005-06 school year. St. Patrick’s Episcopal School is a K-6 elementary school in Thousand Oaks. It is an outreach of St. Patrick’s Episcopal Church.

The school has openings for students, and admission is open to all without regard to race or creed.

The 2005-06 school year will mark the opening of the new Canterbury Hall facility on the St. Patrick’s Campus. The $2.3-million building will feature 10,000 square feet of space for classrooms with technology access and will facilitate dedicated art, science and library/resource rooms. The new facility will also include a shaded deck area for lunch and outdoor education.

St. Patrick’s mission is to nurture children academically, physically, spiritually, and morally within a caring Christian environment. The school has a complete academic program, including language arts, mathematics, science, and social studies that is augmented by enrichment classes in music, physical education, visual art, foreign language instruction and computer technology and keyboarding.

Applications are accepted year round, but school officials expect the bulk of the places will be filled by the end of March. Admission decisions are made on the basis of character, academic promise and the results of testing in the elementary school grades. A tuition scholarship program is available to qualified students.

Additional information, a school tour or an admissions application may be obtained by calling the school office at (805) 497-1416 or from the school’s website at www.stpatricksdayschool.org.
