Agoura Hills

A thief stole a special Jack Russell terrier puppy from a pet store in the 5600 block of Kanan Road around 6 p.m. on Jan. 25. The nine-week old puppy is white with brown spots around both eyes. It was taken from a display glass case while the store employee was in the back of the store. The pet was valued at $900.

A person attempted to steal a truck parked near a residence on Lake Lindero Drive. The incident occurred on Jan. 22 at about 5:30 a.m. The victim reported he saw a man leaning into his truck. When the truck owner confronted him about the suspicious activity, the man responded that he was a peace officer. When the owner of the truck looked into his vehicle, he saw the ignition switch had been tampered with and the plastic steering column broken. Damages were estimated at $350.

Calabasas

A platinum wedding ring was reported stolen from a home on Cactus Trail between 3 p.m. and 6 p.m. on Jan. 6. The victim took the ring off to wash his hands and left it on a bathroom counter. Reportedly, two plumbers came to do some work under the sink that day and the victim suspects those men may have taken the $4,000 ring.

A car parked in a shopping center in the 4700 block of Calabasas Road was burglarized in the early evening of Jan. 23. The culprit(s) broke a $200 passenger window and took a purse, a ring, an MP3 player and a wallet with a combined value of $1,310. A driver’s license and gift certificates valued at $350 also were stolen.

A person living in the 2300 block of Calabasas Road reported fraudulent activity on their bank account. A woman’s car had been burglarized earlier and someone took her purse, which contained an ATM card and the card’s security code. When the victim checked with her bank, they reported several transactions had occurred without her permission.

Westlake Village

A cell phone was stolen from a business in the 31300 block of Via Collina Street on Jan. 25. The phone was left on a table in the business customer lobby area.

A person attempted to burglarize private property between 6:30 p.m. Jan. 20 and 7 a.m. Jan. 21 in the 700 block of Lakefield Road. The total loss was $2,000.
