Reagan’s son, talkshow host to speak at Alzheimers seminar on

Michael Reagan, son of the late President Ronald Reagan and a nationally syndicated radio talk show host, and Gary W. Small, M.D., professor of psychiatry and biobehavioral sciences at UCLA Neuropsychiatric Institute and bestselling author of "The Memory Bible," will be the guest speakers at a free educational seminar on Alzheimer’s disease at 6:30 p.m. Tues., Feb. 15 at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library, 40 Presidential Drive, Simi Valley.

This event is sponsored by the H2U Program at Los Robles Hospital and Medical Center, Thousand Oaks. An acronym for Health, Happiness,You, the H2U Program focuses on empowering adults 50+ years to manage their health and enjoy a healthy lifestyle.

"With adults age 65-plus as the fastest-growing age group in the Greater Conejo Valley, it made sense to feature Alzheimer’s Disease in the H2U debut lecture event, since the disease chiefly affects individuals over age 65," said Irene Brennick, director of the Los Robles Hospital Volunteers and H2U Program.

Reagan, whose father died of Alzheimer’s after a 10-year struggle with the disease, will give a personal perspective on how this disease affects family members and friends. He will also address the issue of stem cell research and what people need to know, in general, about Alzheimer’s.

Small, an expert in the field of Alzheimer’s, will focus on the prevention and current treatments available for Alzheimer’s patients, as well as the progress being made to cure and eradicate this disease.

Reservations for the event may be made by calling (805) 370-4888.
