Oak Park family to open restaurant

Oak Park residents Douglas and Mary Hoag along with their sons Michael and Brett will be opening the Top Dogg Grill & Ice Cream Parlor in Woodland Hills in late February. The Hoag family is creators of Le Saucier Frozen Gourmet Sauces, sold at Bristol Farms and other markets. They have extensive quick-service restaurant management and business accounting experience.

Their restaurant will "recreate the atmosphere of the early 1900s American soda shop, showcasing classic hot ‘doggs’ from all over the country," according to a family spokesperson. It will feature nearly 40 different kinds of ice cream sundaes and other ice cream products.

Top Dogg will be open 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday. Visit the new facility at 20040 ½ Ventura Blvd. A formal grand opening special event is slated for March.
