Heschel West Day School to host gala event

Heschel West Day School will host its 11th anniversary gala at 5 p.m. Sun., Jan. 30 at Valley Beth Shalom, Encino.
This year’s event will honor Suzanne and Dr. Brian Greenberg, and Jeri and Ira Cohen, two couples "who have tirelessly provided leadership and inspiration to the school and its community since Heschel West’s founding in 1994," according to school officials.
The evening’s honorary chairs are Rhoda and Dr. Robert Barnhard, and Irene and Howard Levine.
The event’s theme is "Building a Community That Can Change the World." According to the event organizers, "the theme salutes Heschel West’s commitment to the intellectual, spiritual and creative development of today’s learners, educating tomorrow’s leaders."

The event will feature international décor and music, and a sumptuous buffet of cuisines from around the world.
More than 300 guests are expected to attend. The evening will begin with the awards presentation, followed by a silent auction offering everything from vacation homes to sporting event tickets to a walk-on part on a network television show. Guests will have the opportunity to dine and dance while also bidding on their favorite auction items.
