Oak Park special fair a success Thank you to all parent volunteers at the Medea Creek Middle School’s Ability Awareness Fair. The Ability Awareness Fair at Medea Creek Middle School was a great success. The students had fun while learning the challenges posed by certain physical limitations or disabilities. This was made possible by all 50 wonderful volunteers from our school district. Special thanks to Neva Fast, P.E. teacher, Laurel Ford, Medea Creek principal, Kareen Weidenfeller, Special Education Advisory Committee publicity chairperson, Julie Kerns, SEAC Immediate Concerns Committee chairperson, and Eileen Misrahi, SEAC secretary for organizing and volunteering both days and doing a fantastic job. SEAC would also like to thank Time Warner, Inc. for the generous grant, and all the other SEAC committee members and the high school students who made this event possible. The Oak Park school district SEAC is a group of dedicated district staff, administration and parents who try to bridge the communication gap between families and the district. The committee meets monthly to discuss issues of special educational programs and services and sponsors workshops for parents and staff on topics mostly related to special education. For additional information, please call Kareen Weidenfeller at (818) 889-6903 or visit the website at www.opusd.k12.ca.us/distoff/Committees/special education.htm.
