YMCA announces

new Jr. Lakers league

Beginning in April, the Triunfo YMCA will become the newest Jr. Lakers youth basketball partner in the Los Angeles area. Serving Agoura Hills, Oak Park and Westlake Village, the Triunfo YMCA is planning on offering a pilot league for 6 through 14-year-olds.

The program will emphasize fun, fair play and fundamentals where every child makes the team and everyone plays half the game. No win-loss records or even scores will be kept in younger divisions. Every player will receive supportive coaching, trophies and Jr. Lakers uniforms.

Coaches are being sought immediately. Adults interested in becoming involved as a coach in this new league should call the Y at (818) 707-YMCA (9622). Further details will be announced in March.
