VCCF names Kastenberg as first director

Oak Park resident Grace Padilla-Kastenberg has been named the first full-time director of the Ventura County Community Foundation’s (VCCF) Resource Center for Nonprofit Management.

Since 1991, the resource center has provided training, research materials and technical assistance to nonprofit organizations in Ventura County with the goal of strengthening the ability of those organizations to deliver needed services in the community.

"Hiring a full-time director will make a major difference in our program outreach and will help fulfill the dreams of all of those who have supported the resource center and its endowment campaign over the years," said VCCF President Hugh Ralston. "Grace brings strong experience, dedication and passion to our mission."

Padilla-Kastenberg brings to the position 10 years of experience as a consultant and program officer, including four years with the California Endowment.

In related news, Camarillo resident Clare Brown, CPA, has been appointed to the newly created position of controller for the Ventura County Community Foundation.

A graduate of Cal State University Northridge with a bachelor of science degree in business administration, Brown joins VCCF after spending the last 11 years with Ventura-based Shallenberger & Roberts.

"With our foundation now at over $50 million in assets and an annual grant budget in excess of $2.5 million, it became important to expand our finance and accounting resources in order to better serve the community, including our donors," said Ralston about Brown’s appointment.
