Moorpark graduates 35 new nurses

Thirty-five new nurses completed Moorpark College’s Associate Degree Nursing Program and will be eligible to take the Board of Registered Nursing examination. The traditional pinning ceremony was Dec. 16 at the Moorpark College Performing Arts Center.

The ceremony included recognition of the Moorpark College Nursing Association officers, awards for volunteering through the Volunteers 4 You! and the Red Cross.

Faculty member Kim Hoffmans was the guest speaker. Students were pinned by a family or faculty member who assisted them in achieving their goals. The event concluded with a traditional candle-lighting ceremony.

Among the graduates were the following local residents:

Agoura Hills—Michelle Barker, Debbie Licht and Danielle Palmieri.

Moorpark—Kristin McHale, Michelle St. Laurent, Ruth Hernandez, Monica Trujillo-Husted, Lorri Barstow and Margaret Chyla.

Newbury Park—Tiffany Rasmussen and Melanie Hazard.

Simi Valley—Elaine Marr, Tara Lewis, Jennifer Munson, Debbie Zenan, Linda Lippiatt, Celinda Mahan, Donna Coleman, Oswaldo Garcia and Melissa Wyatt.

Thousand Oaks—Sarah Zerembski, Briana Mellor, Vanessa Coleman and Tami Knop.

Westlake Village—Candice Zimmerman and Jeanine Vaughn.
