Agoura ousted by Santa Barbara

     The Agoura girls’ water polo team was defeated, 12-9, by Santa Barbara in the California Interscholastic Federation (CIF) Southern Section Division II semifinals last week in a match played at Agoura High School during light rain.

Matthews added to Lions’ staff
     Clay Matthews, the 19-year NFL star who most recently was the defensive coordinator at Agoura High School, has joined the coaching staff of Oaks Christian High School’s football team, according to Lions’ head coach Bill Redell.

Westlake names Magorien as coach

     Doug Magorien was named the new head coach of the Westlake boys’ volleyball team after Greg Gibbons left to become an assistant coach at Pepperdine. Magorien was head coach of the Westlake girls’ team and is expected to relinquish that role to concentrate on the boys.

     Registration is now being accepted for the United States Youth Volleyball League’s (USYVL) spring season in Thousand Oaks at Conejo Creek Park North and Oak Park at Deerhill Park.

     The Oak Park soccer team last Friday was narrowly defeated, 1-0, by Oaks Christian, the team with which the Eagles shared a championship last year. The game was played at Oaks Christian High School.
