Agoura Hills

A gold bracelet with 22 diamonds valued at $3,100, a gold necklace worth $2,175, a gold ring with a Hebrew inscription and other personal items valued at $1,000 were taken from a home Dec. 2 in the 29000 block of Windsong Lane. When the victim returned from work, she noticed pillows on her bed were out of place and her jewelry and personal items were gone. Although she had an idea who committed the crime, she didn’t describe the individual to officers because she was concerned about her safety.

Tools valued at $8,150, including an electric saw, drill motors and a jack hammer, were taken between Dec. 4 and 6 from a storage bin at a construction site in the 3000 block of Triunfo Canyon Road.

Someone stole a backpack filled with camera equipment valued at $2,500 from a hotel lobby. The victim was talking to another person when the items were stolen at about 10 a.m. on Nov. 27 in the 30200 block of Agoura Road.

A flight watch valued at $4,300 and other items were taken Dec. 8 from an upstairs bedroom in the 29000 block of Strawberry Hills Road. The victim suspects the items were taken when her home was renovated. There were no signs of forced entry.

A subwoofer speaker box and 100 CDs valued at $1,770 were stolen Dec. 4 from a car parked near Thousand Oaks Boulevard and Argos Street. The suspect(s) broke a window to take the loot.

A 27-inch plasma television was stolen from an office in the 5100 block of Clareton Drive. The TV was last seen at that location on Nov. 28 or 29.

A man’s wallet containing his driver’s license, credit cards, and $120 in cash was stolen from an unlocked vehicle in the 5000 block of Cornell Road near a business. Although the incident occurred in July 2001, the victim is filing a report now because the Department of Motor Vehicles instructed him to do so because he apparently had become a victim of identity theft.

A victim reported threats were made against him Dec. 3 around 1:45 p.m. The incident occurred shortly after a cell phone was stolen from his front yard. About 30 minutes later, the suspect called the victim demanding a reward to return the phone. The conversation escalated and the caller got upset. The suspect threatened the victim, saying, "I will come and kill you and your wife and kids." The victim was concerned that the suspect would carry out the threat because one of his gardeners is a former gang member.

Calabasas

A construction site in the 24000 block of Calabasas Road was vandalized on Dec. 2. Worksite tools were taken after the suspect(s) torched open the lock of a storage container on the site. The suspect(s) also cut the ignition wires on a forklift at the site. Three other storage containers were burglarized in similar fashion at the same location and at the same time. Items stolen from the containers included Roto Hammers, a cordless drill, concrete finishers, a vacuum and a saw. Items were valued at more than $5,000.

Someone stole a wallet containing a Social Security card and a community college identification card Nov. 16 after the victim left her bag unattended between 10:30 a.m. and noon at the community center in the 27000 block of Malibu Hills Road.

Suspect(s) stole a black briefcase, cell phone and sunglasses on Dec. 3 or 4 from a vehicle parked in the 4600 block of Park Granada. Items were valued at $580.

Someone slashed the window of a vehicle parked in a carport in the 4600 block of Park Granada on Dec. 4 around 7 a.m. Stolen were a cell phone, wallet and cash (totaling a loss of about $450).

Westlake Village

A Prada purse containing a driver’s license, credit cards and $225 in cash was stolen from a store shopping cart in the 5700 block of Lindero Canyon Road. It was recovered soon afterward. The victim’s purse was taken from the cart after she turned to look at a product. When she returned, her purse was gone. The victim reported the crime to store personnel, and a store employee later found the purse in a store clothing display. Nothing was missing.
