Hadassah will host leadership program

Hadassah Southern California will offer the first Machon Leadership Academy (Machon HLA) program in the San Fernando Valley beginning in 2005. Machon HLA is a national leadership education program developed by Hadassah. It’s a peer-led approach to learning that focuses on leadership, Jewish education and advocacy in a small group atmosphere.

This women’s group will be limited to a maximum of 20 participants in an age range from 20s through 50s. Participants will be selected based on their educational goals, community involvement and references.

The Machon HLA group will meet on the second Wednesday of each month from 7 to 9:30 p.m. with no sessions in July or August. The first meeting is scheduled for Wed., Jan. 12. There is no charge for the program itself. The commitments are that each participant be a member of Hadassah ($36 annual fee), a $25 materials fee, plus a $100 donation to be directed to the Hadassah project of choice.
