In attempting to confirm whether or not Soka University had agreed to sell its campus, a local representative of Soka denied that such an agreement had been made. It turns out that the Conservancy and Soka officials in Japan had, indeed, signed a contract. Look for a follow-up story in next week’s edition of The Acorn.

The developer of The Oaks, a residential project in Calabasas, was never under an obligation to build a new elementary school behind gates, only to provide a site and pay developer fees and interim housing fees. The property isn’t owned by the city of Calabasas. It’s owned by the developer. An agreement would’ve allowed Las Virgenes Unified School District use of the property for construction of an elementary school.
