Calabasas optometrist honored

Dr. Morton Greenspoon of Calabasas was recognized and honored recently by the Southern California College of Optometry (SCCO) as one of 100 individuals whose contributions, leadership or influence have nurtured and sustained the growth of the college. For more than 50 years, Greenspoon has been a leader in contact lens research. His work creating contact lens special effects for the movie industry has earned him an Academy Award nomination and an Emmy Award for his work on the "Star Trek" series.

Greenspoon was honored by SCCO at their centennial anniversary celebration at Disneyland Hotel. SCCO is recognized nationally as a preeminent institution for optometric education and research.
