Westlake Elementary gives across the globe

JAMES FARRALLY/The Acorn REACHING OUT TO OTHERS-Above, Children from Wendy Ridenour's third-grade class at Westlake Elemen-tary School prepare more than 30 Christmas pack- ages for their pen pals at Makobe Children's Home in Shimba, Kenya. The children became pen pals with the AIDS orphans after Wendy went on a mission trip to Kenya last July. Right, Jennifer Marvin's fifth-grade class show stockings filled with needed items that they gathered for U.S. military personnel in Iraq. Their stockings were among 9,900 sent from Merrill Lynch in Westlake Village. The stockings were to be shipped tomorrow and should be distributed the week of Christmas.
