Lindero Country Club offers winter sports camps

A winter sports camp program for youth offering professional instruction in a variety of sports for youth ages 5 to 13 will be offered from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Mon., Dec. 20 to Fri., Dec. 24 and from Mon., Dec. 27 to Fri., Dec. 31 at the Lindero Country Club, Lakeview Canyon, Agoura Hills. The club has facilities for tennis, golf, basketball, volleyball and handball.

The 5 Star Sports Camps are offered by the Health Edutainment Corporation. The sessions are designed to provide skill instruction while enhancing self-esteem in a fun environment. All camps are taught by experienced instructors and counselors. An 8:1 camper-to-staff ratio is maintained to ensure that every participant receives attention. The professional staff emphasizes sports skills development, technique and teamwork. In addition to team sports, other activities will be offered, including video games, computer games, arts and crafts and board games.

Overseeing the staff and directing the camps are Denny Lubin and Stuart Bramer.

Coach Denny is a physical education specialist with a bachelor’s degree in kinesiology from UCLA who has been teaching sports and fitness for more than 20 years. During the summer of 2004 he was the head tennis coach for the Lindero Country Club Sports Camp. He’s a former head basketball and baseball coach with the Maccabee Athletic Club.

Coach Bramer is the president of the Health Edutainment Corporation, which has managed 5 Star Sports Camps for the last several years. He teaches sports and movement classes and has coached various basketball and baseball teams since 1996. Bramer has a bachelor’s degree in psychology from UCLA and a master’s in health administration from the University of Colorado.
