AHS to host its own ‘Idol’ talent show Agoura High School (AHS) is hosting an event, Agoura Idol, tonight, Dec. 9 and Fri., Dec. 10 at 7 p.m. in the G-building. The talent show will mimic the hit TV show "American Idol," where contestants sing for a panel of judges—but with a twist. The school event will lampoon the television show with a "William Hung" award for the worst performance. Hung was the contestant on "American Idol" who became famous for singing poorly. Even the panel of student judges will humorously imitate the TV judges with some over-the-top sweetness, while one will likely share contempt for the contestants, much like Simon Cowell on "American Idol." Jenna Grossman, AHS junior class vice president, said doors will open at 6:30 p.m., and the show begins at 7 p.m. Tickets are $5 with an ASB card (slightly more without a card). ––Stephanie Bertholdo |
