Support group recognizes volunteers

The San Fernando Valley West Parkinson’s Disease Support Group will honor Dolores Plaster at the Wed., Dec. 15 meeting for her dedication to the Parkinson’s disease (PD) community in the San Fernando Valley. Plaster was instrumental in establishing the support group in October 2003, which provides an opportunity for patients and family members to learn more about how the disease affects their lives. She is a resident of Astoria Senior Residence, a care facility specializing in helping people with PD.

The local support group, which is sponsored by the American Parkinson Disease Association, meets every third Wednesday of the month from 1 to 2:30 p.m. at the Astoria Senior Residence, 4520 Willens Ave., Woodland Hills.
