Simply Music program a breakthrough in learning piano

In a quiet street in Agoura Hills Sheri Reingold is teaching a remarkable, Australian-developed piano method called Simply Music. The program claims to be a breakthrough in music learning and has students playing advanced-sounding blues, classical and contemporary pieces––immediately––from their very first lessons.

"I have been studying piano since I was a child and, in all these years, I’ve never seen a method that is even remotely like Simply Music," Reingold said. "Traditional methods insist that students learn to read music as the means of learning how to play. This is why learning piano for so many is so slow and frustrating. In fact, asking students to read music before they’ve learned how to play is like asking toddlers to read before they’ve learned how to talk."

"It translates music into a series of unique concepts that unfold directly onto the keyboard, a process that everyone can relate to very naturally. Students are not only playing songs immediately, but they’re loving it. I’m thrilled to be teaching Simply Music," she said, "and consider myself very fortunate to be offering this amazing piano program."

Reingold will be conducting a series of free introductory sessions where people can find out about what the program achieves and how it differs from traditional methods.
