Corvette show is DARE project Corvette show is DARE project Red Line Corvettes, in conjunction with the Thousand Oaks Police Department and Conejo Recreation and Parks District, will host its 11th annual car show from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Sun., Sept. 26 at Conejo Creek Park, Thousand Oaks. The car show is described as "the single largest fundraiser for the local DARE (Drug Abuse Resistance Education) program." DARE is a nonprofit organization that educates young people about the dangers of drug abuse and emphasizes prevention. All money raised from the car show goes directly to DARE and related youth programs for the education of young students and teens. Entertainment, raffles, awards, food and beverages are part of the day’s festivities. Admission for spectators is free. Show cars will be entered from all areas of California. Typically, the Camarillo-based Red Line Corvettes shows attract more than 100 Corvettes dating from the 1953 model to current-year models.
