Saberhagen to host golf tourney to benefit CHS baseball

As part of his plan to revamp the outdated baseball facilities at Calabasas High School, newly selected head coach and former major league pitcher Bret Saberhagen is doing a little fundraising of his own—only he’s asking supporters to pick up their clubs, and not their bats, to get the job done.

Next week on Mon., Aug. 30, Saberhagen will host the first ever Calabasas Baseball Golf Classic at the Calabasas Golf and Country Club. With a group of former professional athletes expected to participate in the day’s festivities, expect the tournament, which costs a minimum of $250 to enter, to go along way in aiding the new coach’s big plans for CHS.

In addition to getting a chance to compete, those who register for the tournament will be treated to a dinner and auction afterward. There’s a hole-in-one contest and team prizes. For details, call Bret Saberhagen at (818) 878-0105.
