Five run for two seats on Oak Park MAC

Voters in Oak Park will choose between two incumbents and three challengers in November’s election. Two existing members of the Oak Park Municipal Advisory Council (MAC) and three others are running for two seats in the upcoming election.

Originally elected in November 1995 and 2000 respectively, incumbents Todd Haines and Deena Parry have decided to seek reelection.

Challenging for the two seats are Oak Park residents James Ebert, Tony Fote and Mary Pallant.

Ebert, 55, has lived in Oak Park for five years. He’s a real estate appraiser working primarily in the Conejo and surrounding valleys. Ebert is married and has two sons, ages 9 and 7. In his free time, Ebert plays drums for a jazz trio called Milestone.

An Oak Park resident for 15 years, Fote, 47, is an editor/producer for the newsroom at KTLA-TV in Hollywood. He’s been the president of the Montego Home-owners Association for the last five years and is married with two children, a son, 9, and a daughter,12.

Pallant, 44, and her family moved to Oak Park in March. Previously employed as an insurance agent, Pallant, a political activist for several years, is a stay-at-home mom with two daughters, ages 11 and 7.
