Local firm translates for Olympics

Westlake Village-based Agnew Tech-II, a translation and multilingual video recording firm, recently worked with Big Screen Network Productions, Inc. (BSN) to translate their video board programming from English to Greek for every venue and sport at the 2004 Summer Olympic Games and the Paralympic Games in Athens, Greece.

"It was an honor to work with BSN Productions in translating for the Olympics," said Irene Agnew, company founder and president.

Before BSN was selected by the Athens Organizing Committee as the sole production company worldwide to produce the 2004 Games, they sought assistance from Agnew Tech-II in interpreting the request for proposal and translating their proposal presentation to Greek.

Agnew-Tech II produced the voiceover and subtitles in BSN’s video programming for every Olympic venue and every sport, as well as translating all business contracts and documentation.

"Agnew Tech-II truly understood the grandeur of our task, the importance of its accuracy and the fast-approaching deadlines," said Paul Kalil, president and CEO of BSN.

In anticipation of the 2008 Olympics in Beijing, China, Agnew-Tech II is launching a campaign to assist local companies interested in developing business ventures in China. Agnew-Tech II is offering guidance in cross-cultural promotions, Web page locations, multimedia and audio/video production, interpretation and cross cultural consultation.
