Nature to be emphasized at MRT event in Calabasas

Mountains Restoration Trust (MRT) will sponsor "Family Fun at Headwaters Corner," from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sat., July 24 at Headwaters Corner, Calabasas. Participants are asked to park at the Calabasas High School parking lot, 28555 W. Mulholland Hwy., and catch the shuttle that will be running every 10 minutes.

A variety of ongoing activities will be presented, including a guided nature walk, Native American games and crafts, insect exhibit and crafts, camp song sing-along and a kids’ coloring corner.

In addition, visitors will have an opportunity to see Lancelot the Hawk, reptiles and amphibians, and participate in the native grass restoration project.

The San Fernando Valley Gourd Patch Calabaza Artisans will display their handicrafts as well.

Visitors are invited to bring a picnic lunch.
