Park workshop coming soon

If you live in or near Westlake Village, and if you use public parks and you want more amenities available in those parks, read on.

The city of Westlake Village has scheduled a workshop for Canyon Oaks Park to identify specific needs and enhancements.

The 6:30 p.m. workshop is set for Wed., July 21 in the future Canyon Oaks Park at Hedgewall and Landino drives. The format will accommodate an informal discussion between members of the city’s Cultural Recreation Advisory Board, the Canyon Oaks Homeowners Association and other residents.

According to Audrey Brown, assistant city manager, attendees will complete a questionnaire on possible improvements and go into groups to brainstorm their ideas.

"This is a way for us to get feedback from the residents. It’s an outreach to the community," said Brown.

Through a similar process the city opened Foxfield Park last year, its first neighborhood facility.
