Helicopter show to spotlight public safety agencies

The Code 3 Career Fair, billed as "the Southland’s largest event devoted exclusively to careers in law enforcement, public safety, homeland security and the military," will run from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sat., July 17 at the Hansen Dam Recreation & Sports Complex, 11708 Foothill Blvd., Lake View Terrace.

As one event element of the admission-free American Heroes Air Show, the Code 3 Career Fair brings together recruiting teams from law enforcement, fire service, government service, volunteer agencies and all military services to profile what they do and how interested members of the public may become a part of the action. Among the recruiting teams will be representatives from the Ventura County Sheriff’s Department.

The American Heroes Air Show is dedicated exclusively to the unique capabilities of helicopters. With aircraft from local, regional, state and federal/Department of Defense on display, visitors can see these aircraft up close and meet their crews.

The event also offers a "Rollin’ to the Rescue" presentation of vintage and restored police, fire and emergency vehicles "as they roll Code 3" into the event during the morning for static display throughout the day.

Information and resources from emergency preparedness for businesses and community will also be available, plus family tips for Internet safety from the FBI’s Citizens’ Academy Safety Squad.
