Workshops to explore spiritual solutions to everyday problems

Spiritual solutions to everyday problems will be explored in workshops conducted by Cynthia Neely in Westlake Village and Simi Valley. Neely is a professional practitioner and teacher of prayer-based spiritual healing.

At 7 p.m. Tues., April 13, the subject is "Spiritual Solutions to Addictive Habits," presented in the Christian Science Reading Room, 2900 Townsgate Road, Ste. 114, Westlake Village (in the Village Glen Plaza).

At 1 p.m. Wed., April 14, the subject is "Vitality at Any Age," presented in the community room of the Simi Valley Public Library, 2969 Tapo Canyon Road, Simi Valley. The materials fee is $10 ($5 for seniors). For reservations, call (805) 527-3462.

Neely said her workshops are designed to "help people find out how to pray better for themselves and for the world." She shares the story of her personal journey out of abusive relationships and drug addiction and explains the power of a spiritual perspective to do the same for others. A deeper understanding of spirituality, she said, gave her renewed hope, confidence, improved health, and led her to a new career in nursing.

The workshops follow her participation on a panel presentation for the medical staff at Los Robles Regional Medical Center, Thousand Oaks, on "Religious Aspects of Patient Care."
