St. Paschal Baylon announces Easter services

Saint Paschal Baylon Roman Catholic Church will celebrate its Easter Vigil from 7:30 to 10 p.m. Sat., April 10 at the church, 155 E. Janss Road, Thousand Oaks. As the Easter Vigil begins, Lent ends.

As part of the Easter Vigil liturgy the Roman Catholic Church welcomes into full membership those converts who have expressed a desire for full communion with the Church. This special liturgy begins with the Service of Light for the blessing of the new fire for the paschal candle which symbolizes Jesus. The Liturgy of the Word follows with special readings from scripture.

"Our work is to guide men and women toward their goal of entering the Catholic Church and developing a relationship with God. We see them enter the process as separate individuals and by Easter Vigil they have become one in their belief in the universal Church," said Mike Lynch, director of the Church’s Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults.
