Measure E in a Nutshell

Measure E was passed by voters on Tuesday in Las Virgenes Unified School District.

Measure E will generate between $1.8 and $1.9 million per year in the district to help compensate for state budget cutbacks.

Measure E will require an additional parcel tax of $98 per year. The assessments will expire at the end of four years. Homeowners over age 65 can qualify for an exemption by calling the office of Don Zimring at (818) 878-5203.

The parcel tax measure required a two-thirds majority. It passed with 11,852 votes in favor and 4,802 votes against, netting

72 percent of the vote.
