Council blew it on rock climbing facility

Council blew it on rock climbing facility

I am writing to protest the incompetence and shortsightedness of the Agoura Hills City Council.

I read with amazement the article regarding Todd and Pavlina Ryzow’s proposed rock climbing facility and the inane comments uttered by several council members.

Contrary to what Mr. Weber says, this recreational concept is the right thing in the right place; to what Mr. Reinhardt says, it would not clash with the Agoura Village plans; and, to what Mr. Kuperberg says, in what appears to be a blatantly uninformed comment, the rock climbing wall would use the land to its "fullest" advantage.

I implore the Ryzows to not abandon this idea. It is a good one. It would benefit the city tax base. It would be helpful to area children. It represents the American Dream of starting one’s own business, earning an honest living and, at the same time, providing a needed service to the community.

John Edelston seems to be the only council member who is thinking clearly at present. At the earliest possible opportunity, the voting citizens of Agoura Hills need to replace Weber, Reinhardt and Kuperberg with elected municipal representatives who are in favor of small business owners, not huge land developers such as the Snyder conglomerate.
