Pet of the Week
Acorn, photographer help out with The volunteers at the Agoura Animal Shelter wish to thank The Acorn for including the Pet of the Week as a regular feature. Thanks are also given to Lisa Adams, whose heartwarming photographs of homeless pets have assisted with generating interest in not only the featured animal but other shelter animals as well. We often find people wandering around the kennels with Lisa’s latest photo, looking for the featured animal. Typically, the Pet of the Week is adopted as soon as they meet the animal for themselves. Sometimes the animal featured has already been adopted by the time a family arrives at the shelter, but very often another animal in need of a forever home is then adopted instead. Lisa has also been an invaluable resource in helping the shelter acquire desperately needed supplies and equipment. In the past year a washing machine, dryer, dog and cat food, toys, leashes and collars have all been donated as a result of requests run in your publication. Whenever we had a need, Lisa makes sure to include the request as part of the Pet of the Week feature. The animals at the Agoura Animal Shelter are fortunate to have support from The Acorn and Lisa Adams and for making a difference in helping us to reduce the number of homeless pets. Thank you from purring hearts (the cats), wiggling whiskers (the bunnies), and wagging tails (the dogs) for helping them to find their forever homes.
