Parents: Celebrate Valentine’s Day, leave the kids at community center

Sure you love the kids, they’re absolutely adorable and the light of your life. But hey, it’s Valentine’s Day. How about a little time for Mom and Dad to be alone for a night on the town?

The Conejo Recreation and Park District heard the plea of parents in the community and is offering a "Parents’ Night Out" event open to kids ages 3-12 from 5 to 9:45 p.m. on Valentine’s Day, Sat., Feb. 14 at the Thousand Oaks Community Center, 2525 N. Moorpark Road.

Kids will be entertained with games, arts and crafts and much more while parents can go play lovebirds, choose a movie they really want to see, catch a grown-up meal, or just gaze into one another’s eyes.

If it sounds too good to be true, be forewarned that spaces are limited and early in-person (only) registration is required at the Thousand Oaks Community Center. The cost is $20 per child. For more information, call Melissa Nesbitt at (805) 381-2793.
