Students honored for artwork Three local students were recently honored by the Las Virgenes Municipal Water District for having their artwork selected to appear in the 2004 Metropolitan Water District (MWD) calendar. The students, who attend schools within the Las Virgenes Unified School District (LVUSD), created artwork depicting a wide variety of water conservation messages. LVMWD officials honored the students at a recent board meeting. Lisa Liu and Kelsey Lancaster, both from Bay Laurel Elementary School in Calabasas, and Carolyn Zhang of White Oak Elementary School in Westlake Village had their artwork chosen to be displayed in the MWD calendars. Other students recognized for their efforts included Hayley Polmanski of Willow Elementary in Agoura Hills, Kevin Adams and Sean Donnelly of Sumac Elementary in Agoura Hills, Inez Lam and Keva Hoszawa of Yerba Buena Elementary in Agoura Hills, Brook Feder and Courtni Gidish of Bay Laurel Elementary in Calabasas, and Rebecca Bobrosky of Round Meadow Elementary in Calabasas. Other student posters were also chosen to appear in the MWD calendars. Whitney Rosenheim of Sumac and Valerie Change from Round Meadow had their posters chosen to appear in the calendars. Both students are previous MWD calendar winners, according to officials at LVMWD. LVMWD conducts the annual water conservation poster contest as part of its ongoing education programs. |
