Westlake/Agoura AYSO team is champions

Coached by Chris Buron and Dan Burch, the Agoura-Westlake 16-and-under AYSO (American Youth Soccer Organization) team capped off a remarkable season by recently winning a championship.

The team began slowly, losing four of the first seven matches, but then won three in a row.

After winning their first three playoff games, Agoura-Westlake beat Thousand Oaks in a shootout—the same Thousand Oaks team that beat them in their opener, 6 to 1.

"This team has more heart than any other team I have coached, and each of the 17 players on the team helped us win the championship," Buron said.

Lead by captains Eric Buron and Eric Johnson, the team included Johny Axelson, Jordan Burch, Carlo DiGregorio, Naveed Farahbakhsh, Jason Fraychineaud, Kevin Gross, Ben Hoselton, Jeff Jackson, Nick Jaffe, Stas Lange, Aaron Levine, Anthony Nguyen, Nick Pratico, Ryan Rickard and Andrew Sutman.
