Local library group to help food drive The Friends of Agoura Hills Library and "Santa Comes to Agoura and Beyond" will present an inaugural Book Exchange/Food Collection program from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sat., Nov. 15. The two groups will join hands in "educating, enriching and inspiring" the community this holiday season. "Santa Comes to Agoura and Beyond" and Friends of the Library are asking the community to participate in the donation of nonperishable food items at the Agoura Hills Library Book Cellar, located on the lower parking level. These goods will be distributed on Sat., Dec. 6 in support of the "Santa Comes to Agoura and Beyond" 24th annual food drive. Donors should bring a minimum of two canned goods or nonperishable items (toiletries or individually wrapped paper goods). This will entitle them to a certificate for a free paperback book of their choice from the Book Cellar. Monetary donations will also be accepted and checks should be made payable to Agoura Optimist Club/Santa. Additional paperbacks and hardcover books may be purchased at this event, as well as every Saturday at the Book Cellar from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Paperback books are 50 cents; hardbacks, CDs and DVDs are generally priced between $2 and $5. All proceeds from the Book Cellar are used for the continuing support of the Agoura Hills Library. The Book Cellar welcomes donations of books. The Agoura Hills Library and the Book Cellar are at 29901 Ladyface Court, Agoura Hills (off Agoura Road between Reyes Adobe and Kanan roads). Canned food and toiletries are needed for this year’s annual food drive. Please help.
